Workshop for the promotion of HRE
at school level
Howrah 3 May - United Nations came became conscious to promote
HRE among the school students in wake of ongoing violations
of human rights in the various states of the world. Syllabus
is taken up in India as well as other countries of the third
world removing human rights illiteracy of the people.
United Nations have marked right to education as fundamental
rights under their International Declarations on Human Rights.
As a part of this declaration U.N.O deem the human rights
education the most significant. Viewing this they have come
forward to promote human rights consciousness among the students
(male/female) of the various countries of the world.
At the first phase 10 states of India have been taken up for
this workshop. To shape up this workshop different NGOs have
been made responsible. These NGOs are namely P.W-TN, SICHREM,
HRLN, ICHR, PECUC, HOPE, CSJ and MASUM being entrusted for
the same. For this the representatives of these NGOs met at
Madurai in Tamilnadu to adopt various strategies on its further
development of this workshop. As per outcome of the meeting
at Madurai, one human rights organisation named Manabadhikar
Suraksha Mancha (MASUM) has been made responsible for the
same for West Bengal.
